In this section, we periodically collect answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding participation in our activities. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact us directly and we will provide all the information you need.
GENERAL INFORMATION
It refers to the possibility of booking an entire boat for a sailing holiday with friends, family, or for other purposes. The embarkation location and dates, sailing itinerary, type of boat, maximum number of passengers, as well as all organizational and descriptive aspects of the cruise, will be defined and agreed upon for each individual charter.
Absolutely. In the case of a crewed charter, the entire boat is made available for the exclusive use of the charterer and their guests.
If you are traveling alone or in a small group and are looking for a shared experience with mixed crews, including people who may not know each other, you can join one of our cabin charter trips available in our schedule.
All information regarding cancellation terms can be found in the Crewed Charter Terms and Conditions page.
Send us your request with all relevant details—destination, number of people, preferred dates—and, if we are able to meet your requirements, we will design a customized cruise for you and your group.
Within a few days, you will receive a private link where you can view the proposed cruise plan, including all organizational details and a clear breakdown of costs.
From that dedicated page, once you are ready, you will be able to confirm your booking.
A crewed charter can be booked directly through our online booking system. The process consists of the following steps:
- option request
- booking
- booking confirmation
OPTION REQUEST
Once you decide to proceed, you may contact us to request an option, which will allow you a few days to confirm your booking.

Full details regarding booking, payment conditions, and cancellation policies are available in the Crewed Charter Terms and Conditions.
Bookings are not permitted for unregistered users.
Whether traveling as a family or a group of friends, one person must be designated as the booking holder, i.e., the person in whose name the contract is issued and who will manage the payments.
Contracts and invoices cannot be issued to multiple individuals within the group
The booking holder is responsible for ensuring that all payments are made in full and on time according to the agreed schedule.
Any deviation from the agreed payment terms may result in cancellation of the booking.
The booking holder is free to manage how payments are divided among group members, provided deadlines are respected.
Of course, the price of a sailing cruise depends for example by the duration of the cruise and the number of passengers.
Anyway all costs that make up the total price of your cruise are clearly and transparently listed in the link that will be sent to you.
Typically, the cost of a cruise consists of:
- charter fee for the vessel
- mandatory and optional extras (final cleaning, linen, etc.)
- crew (skipper and hostess)
- onboard expenses (provisions, moorings, fuel, etc.)
CABIN CHARTER
It refers to the possibility of booking your place on board a sailing trip for which certain aspects are already defined, such as the embarkation and disembarkation location and dates, a navigation itinerary, the type of boat used, and the maximum number of people on board.
Of course! All our activities are also suitable for solo travelers, couples, or small groups. A sailing trip is also a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
If you have a group and would like a boat exclusively for yourselves, then you are not looking for a cabin charter, but rather the option to charter a boat with crew and set sail for your ideal cruise. Contact us with your preferred dates and destination, and we will design your trip together.
Choose the activity you are interested in on our website, select your preferred duration and dates, add the product to your cart, and follow the full online booking process.
During the booking process, you will be asked to register or log into your account.
The following payment methods are accepted:
- credit card
- bank transfer
Installment payments, where available, can only be made using a credit card.
There are three booking options available on this website:
- full payment
- deposit + balance
- installment plan
In the case of “deposit + balance”, upon booking confirmation you will be charged the deposit amount indicated during purchase. A few days before the balance due date, you will receive an email notifying you of the upcoming automatic payment. If successful, your booking will be finalized and you will receive a confirmation email. Otherwise, the system will attempt the payment up to three more times, after which the booking will be canceled.
In the case of “installment plan”, upon booking confirmation you will be charged the first installment indicated during purchase. You will also receive an email outlining the payment schedule (amounts and dates). Before each payment deadline, you will receive a reminder email. If all payments are successfully completed, your booking will be finalized and confirmed. Otherwise, the system will retry the payment three times, after which the booking will be canceled.
All booking and payment options are subject to the cancellation and withdrawal rules outlined in the Terms and Conditions.
Yes, bookings are not allowed for unregistered users.

You may cancel your booking and request a refund according to the Terms and Conditions and the cancellation policies specified for each activity.
Only refund requests submitted via the dedicated form on this page will be considered.
Although rare, activities may be canceled due to force majeure.
As per our Terms and Conditions, participants are entitled to a refund of the participation fee only.
After receiving official notice from Vita Vela, each participant must request their refund via the form on this page.
Refund requests are handled according to the rules accepted during booking and specified in each activity page.
Full details can be found in our Terms and Conditions, which outline the refund policies applicable to bookings.
The details of what is included in the participation fee are clearly specified in each activity page, which must be read and accepted during the booking process.
For an accurate calculation of participation costs, please refer to the sections Participation Fee, Cruise Pack, and Onboard Expenses (Consumptions) in each activity’s booking page.
The “Cruise Pack” includes all additional costs that are mandatory and directly related to the activity.
These may include expenses related to the boat (cleaning, outboard engine, dinghy, paddle boards, etc.) or to the planned itinerary (moorings, permits for marine protected areas, etc.).
The Cruise Pack varies from one activity to another, both in terms of content and cost, and is clearly indicated in each activity page under the relevant section.
“Consumptions” refer to all expenses that depend on the number of participants and the actual itinerary carried out during the activity.
Payment for consumptions is managed through a common onboard fund, to which each participant is required to contribute.
ONBOARD EXPENSES (CONSUMPTIONS)
Typical onboard consumptions include:
- provisions (including for the crew)
- fuel (engine, outboard, and generator if applicable)
- moorings (embarkation, disembarkation, ports, buoys)
- water (when not included in mooring fees)
- electricity (when not included in mooring fees)
Estimated Costs
Onboard expenses vary depending on the duration of the experience, the sailing area (e.g., number and cost of paid moorings), and onboard lifestyle.
However, they typically range between €20–€40 per person per day (e.g., €140–€280 for one week).
These estimates are calculated based on a fully occupied boat and, although indicative, are based on our extensive experience.
Estimated daily costs by destination:
- Aeolian Islands: €30–€45 per person/day
- Sardinia: €30–€45 per person/day
- Southern Tyrrhenian Sea: €25–€35 per person/day
- Ionian Greece: €25–€35 per person/day
- Cyclades & Dodecanese (Greece): €20–€30 per person/day
- Croatia: €30–€40 per person/day
Additional unforeseen costs directly related to navigation or route conditions may arise during the trip and may be added to the onboard expenses.
